Welcome
Paddock Wood Choral Society has started its summer break, but we wanted to write and let you know that we are planning to return to in-person rehearsals as from Tuesday 7 September. We hope that you’ll all be pleased to hear that. We will be making plans to keep everyone safe and these will include measures such as distancing between seating and requesting – not insisting – that members take lateral flow tests.
Now, we are aware that a few of you may have indicated that you do not intend returning and we are very sorry to hear that. For some, the decision has been made due to relocating out of the area, but to those who still live within our orbit, we would like to extend a further opportunity for you to reconsider your decision to leave us. We have all lived through some tortuous and worrying times these last eighteen months and this may well have impacted on our thinking. We may also have found other activities to fill the void left by there being no rehearsals. However, making music is recognised as a therapeutic and stimulating activity as well as being a good social outlet.
So, as we begin to return to some sense of normal, Paul and I do hope that we will see a good number of you returning to PWCS to prepare for an exciting lead-up to Christmas. We have new music being written for the occasion and will be collaborating with James and his chamber choir, Luminos, some of whom we have heard sing in our concerts before!
